1. Disarmament and reduction of nuclear warfare
2. Promoting peace and security on the Korean Peninsula

Human Rights Committee


1. Rights of the migrant worker
2. Protecting journalists in armed conflicts

Special Summit


1. Does capitalism work towards the benefit of society
2. for and against use of stem cells in medicine
3. for and against debt eradication

Things to find out:
-basic info about your country: who is the president, where is it, what is their religion, what is it's main export and import etc.
-basic info about your topic
-generally what your country thinks about the topic: is it a major issue for them, or do they have a very serious problem with it (e.g. is your country very much against abortion, stemcell research etc)
-what has been done by the UN and other organisations about this problem

DEADLINES:

January 18th: bring 100 RMB registration fee
January 18th: basic country research (who the president is, what kind of parliament, religion etc.)
January 25th: basic topic research,ideas for how to solve the problem and country and topic research
February 8th: policy statement (what your country thinks about each topic, what has been done, and what you think should be done)
February 15th:resolutions for AT LEAST one topic (for both is better)
February 22nd: Opening speeches and resolution on other topic if you only did one
March 1st: DEBATE :)

March 5th: conference
